“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me
will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never
die. Do you believe this?” John 11:20-27I do, I asked Jesus to come into my life about 2 months ago and everything has changed. I'm not perfect by far, but some of the things I use to do I do no more. Do I smoke (yes) Do I drink (yes, but not much) what have I changed then? Well I'm not going to tell you all of my changes, all I know is that my sins have been forgotten and I'm feeling much better! Everyday I sin but I know that God is on my side these days. Why am I telling a blog or a diary this? Because I know in my heart that I need too. If you don't care or don't like me because I've made this decision In my life, that's ok! I'm still a packrat and will not preach to you, but I'll tell you some things that have happened now and then. Here is a real motivation that has changed
the my life: Dr. Stanley "Landmines in the pathway of the
believer."
And this is what it's about: "A landmine is a hidden
device, the purpose of
which is to injure, maim, or destroy the person who
triggers it. Just as there
are landmines in the physical realm, there are
also landmines in the pathway of
every believer, which are exploited by
Satan to destroy a person’s spiritual
life."Dr. Charles F. Stanley, pastor of the
First Baptist Church of Atlanta and founder of In Touch Ministries,
demonstrates
a keen awareness of people’s needs by providing practical
biblical truths for
everyday life. Modeling his ministry after the apostle
Paul’s message to the
Ephesians, Dr. Stanley believes that:
" . . . Life
is worth nothing unless I use it
for doing the work assigned me by the Lord
Jesus–the work of telling others
the Good News about God’s mighty kindness and
love"I grew up going to a Baptist church in Two Harbors, Mn with my grandparents and in Duluth, Mn with my parents a long time ago. I turned away from God and church nearly 20 years ago. But I give credit where credit is due (this is hard to do) but here I'll say it "Thank you ex-wife" for what I've been missing. My ex-wife with all her faults and troubles and things she did to my life and my kid changed her life toward God! She's not perfect either but she asked me to come to her church for along time and finally I went. http://www.hermantownchurch.com/Do you care? I do! If you don't care or if you do, I'll always be a friend! Some people that I known ask me "Why do you go to church?" and I say "Why not!" Is there something wrong with going to church? Yea, I use to hate the church and all it's preaching. I use to tell others that I believed in my own god and prayed to a god I didn't even know. The church thing was just a thing not to goto. "Church was a just a place where you went to get brainwashed" That's what I told everyone! Now I know differently! Believe what you want to, but remember there's only one God, one Creator! If you don't believe in God all I can say is read the bible cover to cover and it will change your life!Yesterday I did something that in the past I would have never done In my life before. I went to wash my truck at the car wash and there was this very old couple in the next stall. The old man came out to me while I was getting change and asked me "do you know why the car wash isn't working" and I said, "I don't know why the car wash isn't working" he said, "I put in my three dollars and it won't turn on" so I went inside to the next stall and checked it out. "Yep it's not working" I told him "maybe you should go find the attendant" and he said, "there is not attendant" I asked him, "did you check for a phone number on the door?" So he went to check while I pulled in and started washing my truck. While washing I noticed him and his wife where just dumb-founded and wondering around trying to get some help again, but I kept washing my truck. When I was finished, the old woman was just standing there at the front of their car all confused watching me. I hung up the hoses and took out three dollars and went up to her and said, "here go to another stall this one evidently doesn't work" she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "go find my husband, where is he?" I said, "I told him that there might be a phone number on the door to call and get someone to help and get his money back" I found the old man in the front of the car was just wandering around just as dumb-founded as his wife. So I went up to him and gave him the three dollars. He said, "are you the manager?" "No" I said, "I just think maybe you should try another stall and here's some money to do it with" He looked at me like I was crazy! "You, don't have to give me money" he told me. I said, "I'll make more so take it!" and he did, looking so confused that a guy with 4 pierced ears, all sweaty and looked like he would mug him, would give him his money back! I felt so good inside yesterday, like I've never felt before! Why did I do it? That's the question? You figure it out!
